Please note most of the frontline instrument solos and ensembles will take place in the PAC (auditorium), while the batterie instrument, piano, and auxiliary solos and ensembles will be in the choir room.
Results will be posted on a wall at Buffalo High School. Solo and ensemble first-place winners will receive medals at the 2023 MPA Championships on April 1.

Please read the descriptions of the scholarships before applying to make sure you qualify. Descriptions are below and within each scholarship section.
You may apply for a maximum of two scholarships. No student will be awarded more than one scholarship.
All essay answers need to be limited to 250 words.
There will be two Access to Education scholarships and one of each of the other scholarships awarded.
Each scholarship is for $500, with the amount paid directly to the school or drum corps.
Drum Corps Scholarship: This scholarship is for any current MPA performer OR instructor who is marching with a DCI junior corps in the summer of 2022.
Jordan Jergenson Memorial Cymbal Scholarship: In memory of Jordan Jergenson, a longtime performer, Board of Directors member, and cymbal instructor within MPA. Jordan leaves a legacy of passion and kindness, and inspired those around him to be not only better musicians but also better people. This scholarship is for any graduating high school senior who is marching cymbals this year.
Future in Music Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating senior who is planning on going into music performance OR music education in college.
Kayla Koranda Memorial Spirit of MPA Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating senior who has been positively impacted by MPA and their experience in an MPA group.
Access to Education Scholarship: This scholarship is for any graduating high school senior and is considered a financial-need-based scholarship for college.
MPA is excited to bring the 2023 Minnesota Percussion Association Day of Percussion to Rosemount High School on Saturday, January 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
And we're happy to work with the Percussive Arts Society Minnesota Chapter to this year hold a concert for local student concert percussion ensembles at 6 p.m. later that day. Plus, members of these and other percussion ensembles from the area will join our MPA students for the Saturday morning and afternoon clinics and concerts!

The 2023 Day of Percussion will feature:

A raffle drawing for various donations received from corporate and local sponsors
Registration for the event will start at 8 a.m. Members of current MPA member ensembles get free admission.
Cost for non-MPA groups is $20 per student or $250 for the whole group (whichever is less). Individual attendee cost is $20.
Lunch will be available for purchase in the afternoon. A full meal (two slices of pizza and a drink) will be $7 (cash and cards accepted), with snacks/candy and other items available. Sticks, mallets, drum pads, and other accessories will be on sale, along with MPA apparel.

You may submit either a video (10 seconds maximum; high resolution; MP4 or MOV format), one image (PNG or JPEG file format; high resolution; already designed) or just text.
The price is $20 for each shoutout, regardless of format.
If placing more than one shoutout, make sure to update the quantity when paying through PayPal.
MPA reserves the right to edit the shoutouts or refuse any if they are not appropriate for our audience. Money for any refused shoutouts will be refunded, and the person who placed them will be contacted.
